Title: Algae
Post by: zwartbles on August 21, 2012, 09:05:18 am
Hi all !

Does anyone have ideas on how to prevent algae from forming in large plastic water containers ?
Particularly interested in systems not using a copper based additive.

Many thanks

Yep....either that or keeping the light off it!

Dunno about the black - I have a black rubber water trough and it gets algae, both floating and on the sides, although maybe not as quickly as my other non-black troughs.

It's to do with the light getting to the water - in a trough it still does, but in a black container it wouldn't  :)
