Title: Melplash Show
Post by: Bramblecot on August 19, 2012, 11:36:12 am
(http://www.accidentalsmallholder.net/forum/Smileys/default/excited.gif) (http://www.accidentalsmallholder.net/forum/Smileys/default/excited.gif) The Melplash Show at The West Bay Showground, Bridport, Dorset is going ahead after all  (http://www.accidentalsmallholder.net/forum/Smileys/default/relief.gif) (recent flooding put it in doubt).  Thursday 23rd August.  Good luck to a certain TASer who I hope will sweep the board in the sheep classes. Wonder who that might be  ;)
I love Melplash (especially a it's my local show!) I don't think it will go all my way though! with Wensleydales, Cotswolds etc it's going to be a challenge for my scruffy GFDs to get amongst the rosettes - especially when they have been lying in the gateway on semi solid dung  ::)   :roflanim:

Old Land Rover has just seriously failed the MOT  :'( so no transport for my sheep (well, that's my excuse).  I'll be the one in the horticultural tent tomorrow night balancing plants/eggs/jam  :o .  Where is OH when you need him? ::) ::)

:farmer: Brilliant day, the sun shone  :sunshine: :sunshine: and there was a cool breeze off the sea.
A certain TASer was in the grand parade with her Champion Ram (well done Gungadin) :trophy: :trophy: , and won first prize with a ewe too.  And another was quietly chuffed to bits winning first prize with a Shetland (ish) fleece :sheep: :sheep: from an unregistered store lamb that was reprieved.
There was a good turn-out of sheep - lots of down breeds and primitives.  Some folk travel a long way so it is well supported.  Anyone interested for next year, give me a call for info.
