Title: Best daffodil for apple trees
Post by: suziequeue on August 19, 2012, 11:21:23 am
I know that daffodils are good companion plants for apple trees.
I want to plant some daff bulbs this autumn around the base our new cider apple espalier trees.
Any opinion as to which daffodils are better?? There seems to be so many to choose from.

Not too sure about the types of daffs Suz - there are so many of them. Could you consider crocus? More colours & better for the :bee: :bee: :bee:

Any of the dwarf varieties would look nice, perhaps with primulas and with crocus before them.

Hi, How about the native UK daffodil which is under threat? The population has decreased drastically due to the introduction of 'improved varieties' and woodland clearance. Known as Lent Lily or Narcissus pseudonarcissus. Tenby daffodil is also a lovely wild flower.
