Just had to dispatch one of my hens, poor thing as suffering, she had a terrible prolapse, she was ok this morning but tonight a terrible mess,sad but the best thing to do.

Brave you - I'm so sad I have to go to the vet and wish I could get to grips of things like that - but you did the right thing - hopefully cheerier day tomorrow :fc:

sorry to hear it, you did the best thing though :(

Agreed shame though.

I got mine through a prolapse but she has never laid since. I was going to dispatch her but she has always been my favourite so she have kept her.

Well done for doing the right thing. It's never easy. {{{hugs}}}

So sorry :hug: , it's bad enough dealing with a prolapse initially without the upset of dispatching as well :bouquet:
I believe they rarely recover, well done doing the deed :trophy:

thanks all for your replies, she was my wifes favourite too, first time I have had to do the deed.

So sorry :hug:
