Our peacock was found dead last week, one day healthy and vocal the next directly under his tree where he roosted dead. No obvious signs, no bites or mites etc. He was a rescue, quite young but had appeared not to have grown his feathers much. Any idea?
Would love to re home a pair if anyone knows of any. We are based in lanarkshire Scotland.

I would willingly send every peacock for a hundred mile radius to you , if it meant silent nights round here.....perhaps someone strangled it in the middle of a scream .... :-J

in al probability it broke its neck when flying (into the tree) we had one in similar sircumstances
very good try i would like free ones as well the last ones i seen sold at lanark were £130-£160 a pair :farmer:

The last ones I saw for sale were in our local market, a peahen and five chicks......they went for £20, if I remember rightly.

Many years ago our local 'keeper used to put a few down with the pheasants just to see the look on the guns faces when one flew over.....
