Lovely treat to have this stunner this morning. Pretty big - at least 5-6 cm if not more.
I think it MIGHT be a Garden Tiger Moth but if anyone has more of a definite ID that would be great!Just love the stunning clothes and the big fuzzy head!

Cruella Deville will have that if she's passing your way. Kids liked that one too, thanks.

Definitely a he, you can tell by the feathery antennae (for picking up the scent of a female :))

Even though I have a moth phobia (thanks to the pranks of my lovely brothers as children) I can actually admire the beauty of this incredible chap. Although I'm not so sure I would cope with him on my front door!! ;D

Don't worry LL i have a full on Daddy long legs or crane fly phobia, hate them with a passion. got one caught in my hair when i was a kid and it fell to bits legs everywhere, total traumatisation everyone says "they wont hurt you" but that don't wash when you have a phobia of them.
Love moths though, and would dearly like to see one of these in the flesh
