Post by: exmoorlady on May 08, 2009, 06:50:21 pm
My little light sussex bantam went broody 3 weeks ago and my husband popped 7 eggs under her. Today she hatched 6 of them 3 light sussex 2 lavender pekins and a buff orpington we are so proud of her. :chook:
Thats a higher percentage than we get from the incubator!!!!

That's brilliant, Exmoorlady. I had 8 hatch under a broody at the weekend and they are really comical to watch if you throw them little worms!  ;D Talk about tug of war!  :chook:

For goodness sake! I'm getting broody myself reading all your comments. Has anyone got a spare cockerel in my area so that I can become a mum? I live just outside Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire. is there anyone near me?
