HI all, too upset to go into detail, but have just discovered tonight that I may have to get rid of my beloved static caravan and replace it with a tourer in under 3 weeks :'( :'( :'(
Does anyone out there have one for sale that isn't hugely expensive?
Anything except a static considered, converted horsebox ANYTHING.
Basically something we can move at a moments notice :fc: :fc:
Thanks guys

So sorry to hear about this. Hope you find something soon. :bouquet:

Really hope you get sorted quickly.

Sorry I'm miles away but I assume you have searched something like this?

hope you get sorted soon.
V best wishes

Thanks all! Have found 1 tiny one, and hopefully got a horsebox conversion in the pipeline in time!
If this all goes arse over tit I may be asking for somewhere to pull in for a few days in exchange for hard labour! :D :fc:
-
I would gladly have you here for a few days but we have the builders in at the moment and we don't have any bedrooms at all . If things get really bad let me know. We could always put a mattress on the floor for you!
-
Oh bless your heart! Thank you!
We wouldn't need rooms as such, just a quiet corner of a yard/field for a few days for the truck to park up. The truck IS (or at least nearly is) our house ;D ;D
However I am well aware of the hassle that having live in vehicles on land can cause people, if you live in a truck or any other form of housing that doesn't envolve stone or bricks then you are generally looked upon as eaters of small children and spreaders of the bubonic plague ::)
But in my defence, I can work my arse off all day and will gladly work in exchange for a place to stay if it comes to it :fc: :fc:

Hope you get sorted soon. Can sympathise with you, as we are in a caravan at present, and its not ideal where we are. Farmer has had Peak Park on his back over it, and we really do not want to jeopardise things for him, after he has been kind enough to let us park there. So we are on the move too .....and proving hard to find anywhere you can actually legally be allowed to park caravan, static or indeed horse box. I did think if it had wheels that was ok. but seems not.

Farm workers accomodation? Get him to tell people you work for him ;)
You are AFAIK legally allowed 28 days anyway.
I highly recommend the book 'field to farm', lots of very useful info in there.
There are loads of ways around this, but throw in the word 'traveller' and you may as well start nutting the nearest wall ::)
Fingers crossed for you hun :fc: :-*

Aw you guys are really the best :-* :-*
I'll give a lil background....
This place had an eviction notice served on it in 2004, in 2006 it was changed to 'not allow the stationing of static caravans for residential purposes'.
NO ONE can tell us if that means we can keep the staty IF we don't live in it ::)
We will not be breaching the notice if we live in the horsebox. However my money is on them insisting on the staty (statys , not just mine here) being gone and I am not prepared to risk my landlord being fined for my tin shed.
Our home as such is safe it is just the physical 'box' that we will use.
So the little 2 berth is now our bedroom, the horsebox will have at least the kitchen done by this weekend.
The worst part is the floor of the horsebox need replacing in the bit that will be our living room is rotted but....
The floor of the static is made of 1 inch marine ply so I'm ripping the floor up very soon ;D
DITW thank you so much, you have no idea how grateful we are but hopefully will be ok.
Mallows.... We need to have a chat sometime very soon ;)
Thank you all again folks
-
Don.... I will see you Sunday anyway! We will have that chat!!! ;) You must be on Mr Williams' place. He used to crack me up when he came into the shop! We used to have such banter!

The guy who lives down the track from our land lives in a converted horsebox very comfortably, solar panel for his "sounds", a wood burning stove and everything well thought out.
He is on rented land and the local authorities told him to go. He said no, they said, oh, o.k. and sent him a council tax demand and some wheely bins.
Good luck, some of these bigwigs from the council should be put in our position, that would make them see things differently. It would seem that being poor and homeless is still a crime, even in these days ::)
The offer of a place of refuge extends here to South Devon should you need it
