 Gabi has been Golden while I've been laid up with the leg. doing everything that I normaly do plus all her own work, but a few thing have had to be put on a back burner, like foot trimming where a bit of goat wrestling is called for.
For the last week I've managed to hobble out to the dairy and sit down to do the milking , then I started on what is normaly a monthly job , picking feet up and nail trimming while they milk,
Then this morning after everyone was done, we wheeled the billies out and had a look at them, then realised it was two months since they were trimmed, It looked more like 12 months, and they both behaved like it was the first time , talk about goat rodeo, never heared such a song and dance. By the time I'd finished the sweat was dripping off me. :relief:

Mine always act as if it's their first time ever.

It's in the goat manual.
Paragraph 21, section 3:
'Always make an unholy fuss about anything remotely good for you or that requires co-operation. That way either the humans will stop it, or at the very least, they will provide treats as bribes; a win-win situation.'

Ohh the joys of Goat keeping ::)
we just did our lot at the weekend and belive me if I had jumped in the river fully clothed and doubt I would have been any wetter !
I started with Bluebell who I thought would be the worst but she wasnt too bad then it went down hill after that :-\

ugh, ours never co-operate with foot trimming ... its a case of snipping a bit off here and there when they aren't looking!
we've tried all manner of different ways, they just won't have it!

Hi, we do the milkers feet after they have been milked while they are still on the milking stand, no problem and even the Boer's GG's and Pygmy's will get on the stand for foot trimming as they know there is something nice in that bucket and we can secure any that are feeling like playing up or are new to us, the other plus is that we can do the Billies the same way with out getting to smelly ourselves, our boys are lovely and although I actually don't mind the smell to much my children will always moan when I've been in close contact with the Billies ;D
