I have 60 Turkeys under heat and they currently have run of a barn - however I need to structure their space a bit more as I need to use the barn for other chicks and ducks under heat (they are to separated to stop any cross infection etc)
They will be under heat for 4 - 8 weeks (gradually decreasing heat) - how much space will they need per bird?
Thanks
Chris

I would say you would need more than one lamp for 60 turkey chicks. Two or even three would be better, each over a space of 2m x 2m. They grow very quickly and, if they get chilly, will pile on top of each other and smother the ones underneath.

Thanks Sylvia
We have 2 lamps at the moment for them and they seem fine - i have started building 2 x 4ft by 4ft area for up to 30 in each
Will monitor and adjust accordingly
Thanks

They will soon out grow that with that many. They may last 2 weeks in that size brooder.
