Can anyone tell me the symptoms, solution and causes of this problem.
Came home to a dead lamb the other day and now a couple of others are looking a bit suspect (dirty bottoms and loss of condition) They have been wormed regularly and had vitamin supplements.
I have had Pulpy Kidney suggested and Heptavac plus recomended. Does any one have any ideas or knowledge on this subject they can pass on.
Thanks in anticipation :fc:

The symptoms are normally the very best lamb found dead or very rarely nervous twitching , poor limb coordination followed quickly by death , no treatment . A vet may might suggest giving an anti serum to protect other lambs. The symptoms you describe sound more like gut damage from worms ( different wormer class ) or coccidiosis ( need coccidiostat ) both will show if you do a faecal egg count ( vet or sfs ) . Please react quickly as gut damage may cause very slow recovery or death , also the lambs may need oral re hydration .

I thought cocci too.... is the scour so dark brown it's nearly black? It does kill them quickly I understand... someone told me it can be as quick as 3 days!!!! I bought some cades in that developed it (I hear the golden age is 6 - 8 weeks whereby the symptoms appear) but a dose of Vecoxan sorted them right out and quickly too. Good luck with it. let us know how you get on!
