Title: Angus hello
Post by: ddangus on July 24, 2012, 02:31:38 pm
Renovating an old farm house in Angus  at the moment. Adjacent derelict steadings are a long term project. At the moment we have a mix of about 30 hens (ISA, RIR, LS) and a bunch of cockerels (RIR, bantam and Buff Orpington). Recently got two Tamworth weaners and planted the start of an orchard (15 apples) this spring. The polytunnel and veg patch have to wai till later. My work is in potatoes and plant diseases so any questions or weed id's I might be able to give you an answer.

Hello and welcome from central Scotland.

Do you work at the potato crop research place outside Dundee? My sister went to uni with someone who works there.....

Hiya from a bit further north in Aberdeenshire... I have a part time job in Angus, though. Lucky you - you are very conveniently situated for the festival!

Thanks for all the welcomes.

Ina , I actually work in Aberdeen so a hefty daily commute.
Ballingal, I used to work at SCRI (the Dundee potato research place, now James Hutton Institute) about 10 years ago I work for an Agricultural College now but don't lecture.

Waiting for the underfloor heating to arrive so we can start laying that, just the small matter of plumbing and electricity to sort.

Hiya from Aberdeenshire. You're not as bad as I used to be - for quite a few years I commuted to Aberdeen from Cupar in Fife  :-[

We've probably come across each other at some point - I've worked for both in the past 12 years or so...
