is there  a  time limit on leaving a gilt before putting her in pig

the chances of getting her in pig diminish with age and if she is a big girl fat wise they can have smaller litters           with pigs it is all about production  the quicker you can get them in pig and with big litters to justify keeping them in the first place :farmer:

9 - 10mths old is the optimum time so shes a year old or so when she gives birth, this allows for her to grow and mature in time to be a mum.

Thanks for info i have a gilt in pig at moment by 4 weeks so i was thinking about leaving my other gilt who is 12months old now until next month so as to stagger the litters .Would 13 months be to old ?

No it wouldn't. She'll be fine.
