I was supposed to go back to Hereford hospital next Tuesday 24th to get a different plaster with a walking foot, But over last weekend the sole of my bad foot has got progressively more sore until yesterday when it felt as though it had bonded with the lining of the plaster, and it was smelling BAD, rang and made an appointment for todays ortho clinic and tooled it down to Hereford , They took the plaster off with what felt like half my foot, and sent for my consultant , He took one look and said " you have got Trench Foot, " the plaster had been keeping it too moist and sweaty and given me a huge blister on the sole of my foot, and the opperation scar had started to slough off so , let the air get to it and no plaster and keep it dry is the order of the day . Good job I went in when I did, still got to keep next weeks appointment though.

It's a good job you went and had that foot seen to. I bet it's a relief to have that plaster off and have freedom again.

Yuk! Hope it's beginning to mend now and isn't too sore :-* Don't be using the plaster off as an excuse to be doing the highland fling or any other energetic activities standing up ;)

You didn't tell them you've been up to your ankles in mud then!

Oh, that sounds nasty. My plasters have aways got very itchy (take a dig down them with a knitting needle) ;D but nothing like yours. As others have said don't take it as an excuse to run around. You will need to be extra careful now.

Naughty naughty Sally. You would be amazed at what gets stuck down plasters, then causes sores. The end comes off knitting needles down there. The only answer is to use your mind to transfer the itch to the palm of your hand, then scratch that :) Little children can do it; adults are just plain bad ::) ;D :innocent:
Good you noticed the whiff Tizaala before your foot turned to mush :D

True. I knew someone who scrathed an itch under a plaster and broke the skin, setting up an infection which got pretty bad before anyone realised. Many ops later, he now has a below knee amputation and an artificial leg.

Rusty and Bionic will appreciate this, the rest of you can look away now
PS : have PM'd you Sally
