Hi!
We, Dave & Caroline Turner, live in the quiet village of Blennerhasset about 8 miles from Cockermouth. We have just spent the last 6 years building up our smallholding and B&B. We have just under 6 acres which is stocked with sheep, a mix of Texel & Ryeland and some crosses!! Poultry - turkeys, ducks & hens some rare breed but now mostly Heinz 57 plus pigs Doris our Saddleback X sow who is hopefully in pig & 3 store pigs. I also love growing veg and have a polytunnel & greenhouse plus some raised beds and spend most of my life trying to protect everything from the hens, who free range & the cats.
Having set everything up we are now on the move, to hopefully a smaller house & more land. Dave wants more sheep. So if you are looking for a beautiful, ready to go smallholding in the West Cumbria take a look at www.beechhouse-lakedistrict.co.uk (http://www.beechhouse-lakedistrict.co.uk)

Dear Fleecewife - thank you for your reply. We usually go to Woolfest and take some of our Ryelands to exhibit on the Ryeland Society stand unfortunately missed it this year! Looking forward to the challenge of a new place and putting into action all we have learnt here and not repeating our many mistakes!!
