sitting here sipping coffee and watching a band of mist climb up the hill in front of the house, small patches of sunlight making the wet grass sparkle, it has the makings of a better sort of day. so as I sit and ponder life's little pleasures another thought crosses my fuddled mind , does Lynda the Omnipeasant ever check her voicemail ?

its a lovely morning here too.... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
the big yellow ball is in the sky (not saying the name....... abit like the M****th play)
funny how life seems simple when you're not swimming to feed the animals

Yes, I see it here too 8)
And not through the rain for a change ;) Long may it continue :fc:
-
Please keep everything crossed for that big yellow ball to remain this afternoon....its the last ever time all 4 of my daughters will have a sports day at the same school!
Really hoping its not cancelled as Grandad is travelling up for it :) Then...family fun evening at school BBQ and we get to bring some of our homemade plum wine along Oooooooh!

A very bright yellow glow was trying to break through my curtains this morning. Seems strange, having not seen this phenomenon for so long.
Long may it last ( if only enough to sort out gardens and hens' run without wading through a river) :fc:
-
i see cloud but less than i am used to recently, and there is a faint glow in the distance that implies there may be some gaps in the aforementioned clouds.
i can see the top of the hills opposite the house this is always a good sign!!!

Just slightly south of you we too have this strange occurrence ;) though i see a few clouds heading in from the coast across the hills. :fc: it stays long enough to do some good!

it was raining here earlier. It has now stopped that and started raining heavily. At this rate it will be peeing down by lunchtime.
-
Yes I check my voice mail Doug!! But I check emails and forums more often. Will ring you.
We have sun!! Chooks are out enjoying it.
-
The sun is shining here in Wiltshire (in fact we have pretty much dried up)
-
i now see blue sky!!!
-
Lovely day here too.
-
dont worry guys, its lashing it down here in cornwall and its coming your way, make the most of the glowy ball!!
-
I wish I could join in with all your sunworshiping. Its heavy cloud and rain here in NW France. We must have had loads or rain during the night, 'cos the ground is very wet indeed. The beginning of next week is looking promising though, so that's something to be hopeful for!!

Now you have to go outside, turn round three times, slap yourself across the face, spit, and beg forgiveness to be allowed back in. (That's right, innit? Any actors amongst us?)
(I say Voldemort, but I never name the Scottish play.)

It's not raining here and the cement yard is dry. We are grateful for these small mercies.

A beautiful day here in Fife, amazing what a difference it makes to your mood! I am so gutted I have to go and work in the lab this afternoon. It is in the basement, no windows and a controlled temperature of 8C. Oh dear, i've depressed myself now. Fingers crossed the sun is still shining when I emerge back outside again! :fc:

Steady rain all morning - and getting worse - and the Olympic torch is coming through the village at 4 0'clock ::) ::) . Then we are all going to the pub in patriotic fervour :-J
-
Well , it didn't last, a steady drizzle set in about lunch time, and according to RADIO 4 it is going down to 5%C tonight, middle of bloody summer and only 5 C, and then more unsettled weather to come , time to go to a Stockhausen concert then stick a Smiths record on and slash my wrists while tearing up £50 notes under a cold shower ,abject missery , I need the SUN on my back and I need it now. :-J
-
Well, it's stayed dry here all day, be it overcast since lunchtime. But dry non the less ;D
Could do with a paved path up to new polytunnels so in stead of tearing up £50 notes under a cold shower
just pop them in an envelope and send them off to me :-* :eyelashes: Will pm address :eyelashes:

Scorching for sports day  had to take sun hats in for the girls as I forgot earlier. Then we had bbq and wine in the rain, but no-one cared, all in all a lovely day
-
It's been dry all day, and sunny at times
( I'm whispering cos I don't want the rain to notice us and think we miss it ;) )

well, here in Devon it rained all day. It stopped for the night but is now raining again.
-
Absolutely tipping it down today in Worcestershire - typical as its whole school trip to Weston super mare for the kids. Oh sandy, wet washing later then!
-
Not a such a nice morning here in Carmarthenshire as it was yesterday. It has been raining overnight and looks as if it could tip it down again any minute :(

we cut grass ths morning .... shhhhh! :innocent:

No Vaughn Williams skylarks this morning . just the sound of Noah hammering some Gopher wood together and laying a keel , just hope to reserve an outside cabbin, Must have rained all night again . so I will shoot that over cheerful skylark in his ascendancy and substitute Siegfried's Funeral March to match the mood of this utterly gloom ridden morning :'( :'( :'(

(it's beeing so cheerful that keeps me going)

Still soggy here too....east Germany nr Polish border... Its cold too Ive swapped shorts & top for Jumper/trews AND coat this morning....the rain so far has been short and hard between hot sun but todday is cold and soggy.

Same as Mel is getting (we are in the Limousin). I am making soup as it too wet and windy to climb scaffolding and plaster the end of the house above our utility room / worshop upstairs. Its meant to be 29 on Monday and that is too hot for the plaster.
The only job I can think of doing is collecting logs that I left in the woods and stack them under the hanger ( sounds like a winter job).
I suppose I could clean the chicken house again as that is inside the barn and out of the wind and rain.
-
OH went back into thick joggers this morning, and Im wearing a cardigan. It poured all night and its so boggy. We want to cut the grass but its far too wet. Im more than convinced that we have had summer for this year. I just cant see an end to this...and Im normally such a positive person!
-
It has not been too bad here really - I was in a T shirt yesterday and I supose just feel frustrated that we are having a cold wet day. That said I have yet to take a dip in the lake and there have not been too many night that we have sat outside until dark.
It will get better ! We have a few more months yet before it is time to close up the shutters and stoke up the fire.
-
Just had a look at the ten day forecast for our neck of the woods and every day except this sunday(10%) is 40-70% rain :(
Yesterdays lovely sunshine has gone and its grey overcast windy and blinkin' perishing, wooly carids all round. Chins up everyone, more tea and biscuits!
