The same happened to a friend this morning, she found over 5000 new mail in her box, :fc:

It may not necessarily mean your account has been 'hacked' as the from and return email address can be spoofed in any outgoing email pretty simply, but its a consideration. Go through the normal actions - but dont feel like its just you they are after - these spamming bastards are everywhere.
Good idea advising friends though, hope it doesnt happen again.

Mandy, You aren't with AOL are you?
I have just noticed a message from them saying that they are experiencing a large volume of calls relating to spam. They suggest changing your password and security question.

No with hotmail, think it goes back to when i worked for a dutch company who got hacked and my personal e-mail was listed on my company account so think it spouts from there. Have changed password and updated security question and run several malware and virus programs so :fc: .
