Congratulations on your new purchase - I hope you will enjoy the world of shepherding!

Providing the sheep have been properly tagged by the previous owner there is no need to change/add your own tags.

Good luck!

Leave them in , this identifies them in your paperwork , movement sheets , flock book etc, when you breed off them you will tag their offspring with 2  eid slaughter tags, they stay with them wherever they go. one tag identifies the flock ( ie UK 012345 ) goes in the left ear to be automatically read by the scanner, the other in the right ear identifies the idividual animal (  ooo1, etc) . :fc:

If they are pedigree Heb's they will also have silver tags and their registration papers will match the tags already in the ears by the previous breeder.  Hope you have fun with them we have thrity or so and they are all characters!!

Erm - the two tags carry identical info, plus one has the EID.

Id never heard of specific tags for specific ears before. Just one EID and one visual.
