good luck to him, and all strength to his elbow, i reckon hes gonna make the final. :trophy:
-
I reckon he will too. Well at least I hope so. Its about time we had some good news.
-
:fc: and toes - I know a lot of people don't like his attitude when being interviewed (mostly English folk who don't understand his dry humour :innocent: ), but he's dour Scot like many of them up here. ;)
Good luck, Andy!
-
Really would love to see him get thro, for me his matches are torture to watch, they always look such hard work and pain!
:fc:
Mandy :pig:

Annie, Do you think he is a relative of Mr W? ;D ;D ;D

I think you'll find many English 'folk' have a very good sense of humour - in most cases quite dry.
-
bionic Andy is not related to me he was a Scot when he started to play now he has been taken over by the British when he shows potential
there just may be a genuine reason why he does not come over in interviews and why he is the way he is
:farmer:
-
he comes across poorly in interviews because he speaks in a monotone, and barely shows any emotion. thats fine let the tennis do the talking. he was scottish when he started and will be scottish when he wins, he will also be british.

What do you think his chances are for Sunday?
Sally
-
ummmm. :innocent:
-
I shall be cheering on Andy in the final even though i'm english. :innocent: Oh sorry forgot we english dont have a sense of humour do we. :D
-
Robert, I know he's a Scot but I have beeen supporting him win or lose. British is just coincidental.
Good for Andy, I knew he could do it. I have been on the edge of my seat for most of his games but everytime I go to get the horses in or feed the lambs it all goes pear shaped. So do you think you could all sponsor me to sit by the tele on sunday? then he''ll be okay.
Wish I'd had a tenner on him getting to the finals.
-
74 years since anybody in Brittan has got this far and the press and media are as usual bumming it up :farmer:
-
I'm not a tennis fan, but I'll be rooting for Andy on Sunday - he can beat Federer, it's just whether he can beat him in a Winbledon final :fc: :fc: :fc:
-
I had to reschedule my Sunday just so i can annoy the kids and watch the tennis :-)
-
I wonder what the finger wagging is about.
My suspicion is that its something Ivan Lendal has got him to do to help him maintain a positive attitude. Any other thoughts?
Sally
-
something to do with his school days i think i heard he is going to reveal what it is about if he wins :farmer:
-
Don't forget we have another in the mens doubles too. :fc:

Do you think my accidental misspelling of the venue is prophetic?
Mind you, I suppose it is for one of them :eyelashes:
-
It's Americans who don't get humour, particularly irony. Why though do we expect our sporting heroes to be entertainers as well? He's damn good at his job and can develop his stand-up routine when he retires.
-
I so hope he wins
-
And the winner in the men's doubles is British hurray
-
How long will it be before the papparazzi decide to kick the pedastal from under him, like they do with all heros :-\

We cant watch either which is a shame 'cos after the Grand Prix, there is b*gger all on, except GOLF! We just turn back once in a while to see how its going. Trouble is, I like Federer too, but it would be lovely for Murray to do it.
-
first set to murray! (for those to wussy to watch....) ;D

You seriously expected a different result..! :o
-
Has he lost then ?
-

Poor Roger, this moment was never going to be about him, whatever the result.

several ;)

Oh bugger , that is a shame , really thought he could do it this year .
Still at least he got to the final , so that block has gone .
Well done anyway Andy , and well done Roger too , again !
-
He may have lost but what a game. Best tennis i have watched in a while
-
It was a great final to watch, albeit we didn't get the winner we wanted. Still Andy has a fair few years ahead of him and judging by todays performance he could well do it in the future.

Losing to Roger Federa is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of - he's a stunning player. I did watch a little bit - 10 x deuce ::) - and Federa had Murray running to the furthest corners, to wear him out. Good tactic, shame for Andy :(
So to play the final is an amazing achievement for our 'wee' Scotsman - all 6'3" of him - and he did so well. Next year Andy :trophy: :trophy: :trophy:  Now I'll have to watch the whole thing somewhere without the terror of not knowing the outcome ::) ::)
-
I agree, no shame in beng beaten by Roger. And Andy won the first set which was amazing. It really was a match not just a serve and volley walkover. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and appreciated the rain break so I could get my baby donkey in.
-
Superb tennis and Andy's time will come; he's already made history.
-
Well done to Andy on winning the US Open.....what a fantastic few weeks :trophy: :excited: :trophy: :excited: :trophy: :excited:  :excited:
Didn't see anyone of it but sounds like a cracking 5 set match
-
I listened to the first set tie break on the radio before I went to sleep. It sounded a great match.
Well done Andy :trophy: Lets hope its the first gland slam of many
Sally
-
good man!!
-
I watched it!!! Brilliant and so did little Fin who was allowed to stay up late.
-
And another.
-
My dog likes watching tennis too but the radio didn't do it for him ;D
-
Brilliant result for him!
Andy Murray brought the first major men's title back to Britain since 1936, defeating the defending champion 7-6, 7-5, 2-6, 3-6, 6-2. becoming the first man to bring a Grand Slam trophy to Britain since Fred Perry.
My only claim to tennis fame was that when I was dating a tennis enthusiast I bought a Fred Perry tennis Dress! :innocent:
-
Uh, so our first two Charollais tups were Perry and then Fred. Next two better be Murray and then Andy, I guess! Well done that man.
Love the pics of Finn watching, omni. Finn's a Sheba Inu?
