Title: Magpies!

Caught a magpie redhanded! in my chicken's stable trying to crack eggs!!  arhhh!

Yep, we're getting that problem here too & the bl**dy crows are waiting in the wings (lol) to get any the other winged rats have missed  ::)

Trap a few or shoot a few, then hang their remains around the chicken's pens. They don't like it at all.

I hate magpies! I've lost a couple of ducklings to them in the past so they are not tolerated at all.

I caught 5 in a week in a rabbit trap baited with apple. Thought about buying a Larsen trap but a bit pricey. Then I need to catch another Magpie to put in the Larsen.

I've got a larsen trap. I reckon it's paid for itself in a month just in chicken feed saved from the thieving bloody things. We had a massive flock of jackdaws that were helping themselves to the feed. I caught twelve in the first week. I'm now only catching the odd one but they mostly stay away from the chicken pens now.
