Title: Sow & Weaner 16% Protein vs Growers 18% Protein
Post by: P6te on June 22, 2012, 09:30:32 pm
We are currently feeding Sow & Weaner pig nuts to all pigs all the time.  They are 16% Protein and we pay £7.65 / 25kg.

Looking in the (Argo) catalogue I notice Growers pig nuts at 18% Protein costing £7.85 / 25kg

So, Growers will cost £8 / tonne more but will they finish the pigs that bit quicker? What are your views on which to feed?

Pete

They will finish them a bit quicker but I would check that price first. Here there is a bigger difference between the sow breeders and the growers, can't remember how much but alot more than £8.
