Title: Media Request
Post by: claireaes on June 19, 2012, 03:56:58 pm
Hi All,

The television production company Studio Lambert would like to speak to people who are trying to live 'The Good Life' in the countryside.

Have you recently moved from the town to the country and are just getting to grips with your new life? Have you been living your new life for a while now but still feel like you're just getting started? Do you feel like you might need help to fully realise your dream of country living? If the answer to any of these questions is 'yes' than we'd love to hear from you.

If you'd like to share your experiences then please email [email protected] or reply here on the forum. Anyone who does get in touch is under absolutely no obligation to take part in any subsequent programme.

Many thanks,

Claire

Yes it's got to be worth a few thousand quid or 250 Euros !!!
My experience of working with film crews on a documentary is that they control and disrupt the working day and even suggest that you do things that you may not usually do. They are after good TV and will manipulate things to get the most dramatic or controversail take on things they can. You will have no editorial rights of filming or the subsequent voice over. The voice over could very well be intinating that you are barking mad !
But don't let me put you off - do discuss a fee though as they will have a budget but maybe not actually offer a fee unless asked.

hold up here, this could be a really good way of promoting a business, say rare breed meat, cheese or soap for example. lets try and accept it in the spirit it was offered. ;)

This is very true. In fact after Escape to the Country I was run off my feet with soap orders. Good luck to who ever goes for it  :fc:

Some years ago, we were approached by a film crew to film at the farm.  My poor old Uncle had to go out and do old fashioned farming jobs - using his sythe etc.  which did not bother him, as he still used it!!  I had to walk down the field leading one of the goats, and had to do the take about 10 times in the rain, until it was right.  Surprisingly  the goat was very well behaved.

Yes, I was amazed at just how many people there were in the field, and having the boom and camera held over you was a bit daunting to begin with.  But, the crew were all very nice, and I did not feel they were making us do anything under pressure.  But, when we actually saw the finished product, it was only probably two minutes!!  All that standing about etc. all day, for two minutes of fame  (which actually went out on a childrens educational programme!!!)

I don't think you have anything to loose by just making enquiries about this!!!

Do you think that goats in the back garden counts?

Mad Goatwoman .....the TV programme, the Good Life was based in a back garden.  That was what started many people on the road to keeping livestock!!
