Title: Credit cruch and animals
Post by: jameslindsay on April 27, 2009, 11:53:00 am
I read in todays paper that the RSPCA are worried about the effect the credit crunch is having on pets. They say that this year there is a 57% increase in abandoned pets, more than 30 animals a day are being "dumped" in England and Wales. I would say what a sad world we live in but then below this article was a story about mis treated children and then to top it off the next headline read "One ticket nets £7.8 million" in the National Lottery. Sad world or sick world???

Sick without a doubt!

I think its MAD World. Feels like someone needs to get a grip of priorities before it all gets out of hand!

No its just man kind marching on.  Look back through history, and begin to realise that despite all the bad news and newspaper hype we are getting better, more caring.  Its just that it takes a long , long time.

A colleague of mine went to look for a dog to rehome last week. She went to three or four shelters and they had NO dogs to rehome. None!

And 150 years ago there probably were no dog shelters.  See we are improving, just very slowly ;D
