Title: Herons and swallows

I am going on a willow sculpture course tomorrow and my aim is to make a life-sized heron sculpture to go by the pond to scare off..... well - not sure really.


The pond is used alot by swallows etc who swoop in of an evening to drink and take insects.


Will the heron sculpture scare them off?

the course sounds lovely.  I have a metal heron and it doesn't scare anything off  :(

 :D :D   I think the idea is that the heron sculpture scares off other herons, or maybe not so much scares them off as tells them this is someone else's pond. It won't worry other birds although it might send your fish into a nervous decline. Do post a pic once you've made it.  I will probably be looking to make something similar for my new ponds.
