Title: Dust bath
Post by: ayrt1010 on June 17, 2012, 08:24:39 am
With all the rain the girls' dust bath has turned to mud, would it be an idea to make a dust bat? Would play sand be ok?  ???

Dust is good enough but cover it with a sheet of corrugated iron on legs ( i.e give it a canopy) or put your house high enough on blocks and they will dust bathe under it - wet sand isn't much better than mud

Thanks I was going to put it in their pen for when it's raining.

Mine like 'silver sand' (sold for aquariums I think?) and you can add louse powder to help them out a bit.
