rubber gloves.
I won't do any housework without them and always have several pairs in the cupboard in case they get a hole, which invariably the right one does. When my stock is running low, as it is now, I must get some more before I run out or else it plays on my mind.
Anyone else have an obsession?

OMG, OCD !
-
Not really, Bionic. ....... but your post has made me smile ;D ;D ;D I have images of your stock pile of them :D
Do like rubber gloves when washing up ...... makes my hands sore and when they get a hole I wear them to clean out all these hen pens.

I think I used to have some compulsions / obsessions before I became a proper country girl / farmer. Now, I suspect, I am waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too relaxed ;D 8)

My obsessions alter - but there are always plenty :D
Currently:
Midges - very allergic to them and they are just beginning to get going - they control my life from May - Sept
Eric Newby books - re-reading a lot of them, though currently on JKJ's 'Three men in a boat' again - can't take it on the train tomorrow though, cos I guffaw out loud every time :D
Muscovy duck/drake - I keep staring at them, suspecting one of thinking about being a drake
Checking the forums/ emails endlessly - I might miss something ;)
Spinning with my new spindle - it's so light and fast ;D
........
You know how some folk are hyperactive. Well my body isn't sadly, but my brain definitely is ::)

ummm
kylie minogue.

:D ;)

Chocolate. :yum: every day I tell myself no more. Must cut down. Every day more finds itself to my mouth :-\

Pulling out grey hairs! I'm not only going grey, I'm going bald too! :o
-
Counting things and trying to make them add up, some way, to four. I've done this all my life and once read that it is a way of trying to get some order into your life. I've never told anyone this before, this is what this forum does to you :)
-
sylvia, is that why the 4 cornish game hens i bought from you turned out to be 5 when i got them home?? :D
-
No, that's just because I'm "fick" ;D Have some giveaways you can have, if you can keep them safe from Mr. Fox

STOP THE PRESSES, HOLD THE FRONT PAGE,.....My three obsessions are : 1 : Books by Sir Terry Pratchet. I must read some of his work every night for an hour before going to sleep, Gabi has just pre-ordered the new one ( World of Poo, out June 6th ) I have two shelves of them in her library and work my way through them in turn.
2: Mouse au chocolate from Aldi , 85% cocoa. 2 bars ( 5 in pack ) of this while reading Pratchet is my idea of bliss.
3: fresh filtered coffee , about a litre every morning in that first golden hour before Gabi gets up and talks at me, (why can't women value silence ?) If I don't get my coffee then lives are in danger...
-
Ha, this woman values silence. My OH said if he ever came downstairs within the first hour I was up I would say fiercely 'what are you doing down here' and if he didn't take his cup of tea back upstairs I'd vanish out to the goat byre ;)
Maybe that's why we don't live together now - he was an incessant talker and socialiser and I like peace and animals rather than most humans :)

Dont laugh but rubber gloves and picking up chicken poo ;D
Every pocket i have has rubber gloves in because every time i go near the girls if i see a poo i pick it up and put in bin i have near their pen. I have been out shopping- sitting in a restaurant having a meal- out having a drink and put my hand in my pocket or my bag and come out with several gloves :D
-
Bangbang,
When we were children my dad used to pay us 3pence (old 3 penny piece) for each of his grey hairs we pulled out. ;D
-
Ahhhh.... silence
Why is it that people apologise when they interrupt your speech but not when they interrupt your silence?
You know you have a good relationship (of any kind) with someone when a companionable silence is as delightful a shared pleasure as a good chin-wag, and no-one finds silence awkward; it's not something that must be filled, quite the reverse. (Which is not to say I can't talk the hind legs off several equines when the mood takes me! :D)
Thanks for sharing, Sylvia :-* ... I don't quite understand it but it's so intriguing I suspect I will be starting to do it myself now... I love numbers!
I think I probably do still have an obsession about not throwing things away. I find it really hard to throw things out. So then I get backed up with things I want to make some use of, and then debilitated by all the things waiting for my attention...
And my newest obsession seems to be spinning and anything related to it. For which I have to thank TAS, I don't know that I would ever have got started with it otherwise! :-*

sylvia, the last thing you are is thick. im a month or 2 away from getting the rhody sorted and ive picked up a load of ex pheasent pen panels, when im secured i will be up. thanks.xx

Me too, me too!!! ;D
Glad somebody shares my obsession. Haven't ordered the new one yet, though; I always wait until it's in paperback - would make the bookshelf look untidy otherwise! :D
I love freshly filtered coffee, too - but I don't usually have a litre of it every morning... Only on Sundays!
Hate rubber gloves, though. Until recently, I worked in a lab and had to wear the bl**dy things for a lot of the jobs. ::) One good thing about being without a job - not having to wear rubber gloves!

My pockets are full of dog-poo bags - don't think I'm obsessed tho' - just haven't trained the dog to go on command. ;D
Oh, but I am obsessed with my solar power - every time the sun comes out I find myself popping over to the meter to see how much free energy I'm getting. :D
