Title: Foundation Sheets
Post by: AndyMorton on May 28, 2012, 10:54:15 pm

I've got some of the cheaper pre-wired foundation sheets, has anybody ever had any bees which seem reluctant to build out on it?

I use it all the time with no problems, you'll find the Queen skips any cells with wire in though.

I have been told that some bees don't like it and will miss the cells with wire through it for stores and brood. Never noticed it myself though. :)

We have been using them for a couple of years and they have worked very well never noticed any particular gaps or missed areas

Use a very clean or new unused trigger pack & lightly spray the foundation with a very weak solution of honey and water ...once the workers in thehive get tracking across it to cleqar up the liquid honey solution and leave the hive scents on it there will be no problems .
