I have been enjoying the hot weather and now we have just had our first rain in a while. Don't you just love that smell of rain on stonework when its been dry for a while?
This will be the first rain the weaners have experienced too. I am sure its a welcome relief for them.

We have big clouds forming and they have that nasty orange glow round the edges, going to get wet and noisy soon , the animals all wanted in early, on their own terms, goats went all hopity skip up from the paddock , then kept going, past their stables and on up the drive and into the back of the hedges to laugh at my futile efforts at recapture. Our grey stallion thought it was fun to turn circles round me instead of walking in a straight line , the black stallion is now waiting on his turn to go out for the night shift, but we will hang on a while to see how the weather developes.

LOVE that smell! Makes me want to stand out and enjoy getting soaked when its that kind of rain. And I have to admit to feeling a tinge of jealousy ! Its hot and dry here and the ground is parched :)

Good to hear it's on its way. Supposed to reach us tomorrow evening.
Loving the sun, dry and lack of midges but we really do need rain again now.
-
Unfortunately it didn't last long but it has definitely cooled down a bit.

Just been prompted by these posts to check on Metcheck as to when we might get some wet stuff - so at approx. 1pm tomorrow this Mad mummy will be doing just that Robert ;D well, maybe not quite but looking forward to a few showers out there!
-
On that basis, it must be coming from the west so should hit us around 2pm. NO watering tomorrow night then.
-
Just looked at Metcheck for here.
Sunny and 22C today. Chucking it down by Wed. 5C in the day and -4C overnight by Fri ::)
Perhaps I'm glad I haven't had the sheep sheared after all!

Rain forecast here for Wednesday
-
Looks like I'm watering again tonight.
-
I had to, too! no rain here still :)
-
No, or here. Blue sky and hot again this morning.
-
Cooler and cloudy here this morning but forecast to warm up again later. Hoping the rain predicted for tomorrow does actually show up, I 'm bored of spending all morning and evening watering.
-
Raining with us, hurrah, dont have to water the cabbages!

Haven't watered tonight as it got very late. The sky does look as if rain is heading this way. I hope it does. Mind you, I also hope it will be dry tomorrow. The Olympic torch is passing quite near my house and I am stewarding. I do NOT want to steward in the rain.

No rain here, and I LOVE :D this heat - makes me feel as if I am living in Italy, or France, or Greece...dream on...

It started here last night - a drizzle. By the looks of the amount collected on the patio chairs, it's been drizzling all night and it's pretty grey now. Fortunately, the slow speed of precipitation means that there are no puddles - it's all gone into the soil.
