:wave: What a lovely start to the morning - went over to the barn and found 1 smug Tamworth (Hatty) with 8 piglets - she wasn't due until end May. Very pleased with herself and we are too. Dad is my other Berkshire boar
Harry.

Thanks lill
Now ... 2 days old and I have just had a good look at them.... They have the Berkshire shoulder and Tam legs.
Our main herd is Berkshires - but I bought this Tamworth gilt specifically to cross with a Berkshire having read so much about the x for bacon and pork in books such as E.Walford Lloyd and S. Hulme.
In your opinion if there is a good gilt out of this litter would you put it back to the Berkshire? purely for bacon.

:love: they are cuties.

What a lovely surprise - cans of Sweetheart all round methinks :bouquet:
:love: :pig: :love:

:wave: 10 days on and here they are. We had a big wake up call this morning when we had to take the chaps to the vet for castration. Tamworth Mum was NOT >:( >:( >:( too pleased. In the other barn my Berkshire sow with her litter would of said "help your self" :) :)
Anyway all back safe and sound and back with Mum - wonder how she will cope with the weaning.
Oh well - another day
-
gorgeous :pig: :pig;

Yep, I know what you mean about the wake-up call ...
So used to my wee KKs - when their boys go for the chop-op I barely get a second glance from them, but ... my OHs OSBs - OMG I thought they were going to kill me :o
