does anyone have a problem finding somewhere that takes 3 dogs? would be great is we could do home swaps, take our dogs to a home that is used to dogs and we could feed each others poultry etc, so no need to find someone to house sit. Rosemary perhaps a new section on the forum for anyone interested.

We are taking our 2 on holiday with us , there are quite a few holiday cottages who take dogs and other pets. I have a lady who looks after all the other animals and she is wonderful means I can relax when away.

We took our Border Collie and Collie x on a 'self drive put put boat' on the Norfolk Broads' great fun - lovely walks for the dogs, lovely stops and a camping night out on the way down - would do it again in a flash apart from now I have the sheep and goats so sort of stuck - oh forgot to mention the lovely friendly pubs ;D ;D

we always take our 3 on cottage holidays. I look for those that take 2 dogs then ask before booking if we can bring 3 - thy don't often turn you down, esp out of school holidays :-). That way I can have lots of lovely long walks with the dogs and OH an sit with his feet up. Perfect!

The forestry commission allow 3 dogs. In the past I've rang the people direct rather than going through hoseasons etc. Then asked them and reassured that my 3 dogs were well behaved and much less problem than a single dog in many ways.
Even managed a holiday on a boat on norfolk broads with our past 3 girlies when we were told definitely only 1 dog allowed by the holiday agency.
I just don't understand why there is such stigma when people will acccept two dog. Three plus and they think you are running a pack of wolves in your house I'm sure.

As Shep says, look for cottages that accept 2 dogs and then give Farm and Cottage holidays a call to find out if they will accept 3.....most do.

1 dog = 1 lot of hair and smell
2 dog = 2 lot of hair and smell
3 dog = a lot of work making your holiday accommodation clean and odour free for the next guests who don't have any dogs.
Simples.
They're your dogs you love them like we love our dog but you have to remember that not everyone is a dog lover and certainly 3 does become a 'pack' in a lot of peoples eyes.
Here we have a lady who will look after your dog / dogs away from your accommodation which gives you the opportunity to have a day without dog / dogs to go places that don't accept them.
Or to go for a meal without the responsibility of the dog.
Please bear in mind it only takes one dog owner to allow their darling pooch to destroy a room, boat, cottage in some way and the accommodation provider can lose a weeks money and have the cost of putting the damage right. If they've had this happen once they aint gonna take the risk again.
