I am moving my sheep and lambs tomorrow and as I only have a p6 trailer have borrowed a 12' ifor Williams, I have 9 ewes and 19 lambs, will they fit on one journey? Thanks :sheep:

Has it got sheep decks? Breed of sheep?
-
Mule types a Suffolk a Jacob and lambs aged 3-5 weeks.
-
Oh I'd have said they'd all fit in.
Does it have any sort of divide? With lambs that small I'd want them not all falling about in one big heap.
If it doesn't and there's room, straw bales are good dividers or hurdles.

It does have a divide but I don't think I can be choosy over who goes where! I might be lucky to get them all in at first attempt! Its for about 10 mins about 2 miles?

When loading, I use shallow recycled black rubber skips and put a couple in the far end of the trailer with food. They are soft with no sharp edges and the lambs cannot injure themselves on them. Once the first few find there is food :yum: , the others (hopefully) follow.
Plenty of straw on the floor too.
good luck

Well mission accomplished, managed to get them all loaded on my own! Was easy easy and the answer to my question is, Yes you can fit 9 ewes and 19 lambs in a 12' ifor Williams!
