Post by: Ash Field Farm on April 18, 2009, 09:37:44 pm
hi iam looking in to water divining i have had a water borehole prognosis and it wasnt that good however when i have dug a big hole like a well we have got water from it thats is drinkable as its found in a small layer only 4-5 inches wide but it is 6 feet down  to we dug another6 foot down  so it a pool to collect the water in we have left it for a few days and there is 6 ft of water in it at the mo i have already used 2000 liters from it and there is still lots more in there at least doubble that  but iam confusd the bore hole report said it was unlikely that they would find water and if they did it would be very small amounts  so i have looked in to water divining  but i need help about it  me and my dad have tryed looking like complete idiots lol  any adive welcomed

I use 2 brass rods in an L shape, some people can do it some cant, I can find water but my siblings and dad cant but mum can. hold the rods loosely in your hands about 8 inchs apart and when they cross there is water, not sure about finding depth and quantity, that is experience and a few calculations

water divining does work .. up to a point. I use it to find drains and such and am accurate to a couple of feet however it does have a habit of just finding water so it could be confusing a wet patch with a drain.  I don't believe that it can find anything you are thinking of though... leastwise i've never found that vein of gold ore....

It sure does. ::)  When I built my new house a local water diviner came to find where to put my well. Found it within 5 mins and even told us how deep, but when we dug down to the 12 feet he said there was a huge plate of granite so we tried again further downhill and sure enough 14 feet down there it was - he even told us the flow rate before we measured it.  He juts used a branch taken from a nearby tree - and told me to have a go as well - I found water too!  He says the majority of folk can do it, so have a go yourself - it's good fun.  You can buy cheap metal diving rods but the hazel twigs work just as well and they're free!

I had a guy come in years ago to help us find our water and can say it does work. I have used it to find water pipes going through our land. :)

'Course it works! 'S Divine, init?

OK, so that's the Monty Python version.... A few years ago, I was on holiday in Nova Scotia, Canada, staying with friends. I was a pure sceptic at the time, but my host assured me there was something to water divining. He set about proving it. He had a pair of 'rods', l-shaped, cut and re-shaped from a single wire coat-hanger. He demonstrated, walking across his garden, and the rods crossed. Maybe consumption of alcohol fueled my intrigue.... I had a go, and to my utter amazement and disbelief the rods did exactly the same with me, and at exactly the same place. I suggested it might be an underground cable, or some other magnetic effect, but my host took a compass into the garden and showed that it didn't flicker at all, anywhere; it just showed the same (magnetic) North-South alignment all over. He then showed me where the water supply came from, and how the pipe came straight across the very line where the rods crossed. I was suddenly more open-minded.

On coming home I cut up a ubiquitous wire coat-hanger (what did mankind do before they were invented...?) and made my own 'rods'. They work just as well, and I have used them countless times with usually a good success rate. Though I did fail to find water under my allotment, but i only dug down about three feet, so it may have been deeper. It has helped find water pipes that could be inadvertantly dug up when planting trees, and i've found two natural springs. I'm still sceptical, preferring not to gurantee success, so I'm amazed when it works. But it does. And Lord knows how or why....

Yep worked for us too. We had a borehole drilled about 8 years ago. A chap came down from Aberdeenshire and marked the exact spot, told us how far down, the flow of water etc. A really interesting bloke.

My guy is Ian Smith from Aboyne, a great piper too - has been all over the World on piping request tours, has piped for the Queen too.  I loved listening to him playing and his tales as my dad was a Pipe Major in the Cameronians and the HLI

We had a man come up to the Smallholding and he dowsed a great spot, told us the depth that we would find water and guess what..........

He was spot on and when the drilling rig came it found a great supply within 3ft of the diviners depth. Our smallholding is available for the right couple to take on at a very very low cost. Please take a look at.........

growforit.eu (http://growforit.eu) Where the water is good enough to bottle.
