Just a quick post to say hi
I'm not yet a smallholder but as usual I have big plans so I expect to asking a few questions here in the future. Hopefully as time goes on I can also answer some questions from other people.
The title of my blog (and my username here) kind of explains how far I've got:

Thanks for the warm welcome and from so many different parts of the UK too!
Mammyshaz: I'm in the Whitley Bay/Monkseaton area for the moment but thinking of buying somewhere in Northumberland (north or west of Newcastle) so I can continue the commute for a couple of years at least. By that point I hope to know how far I can take this mad smallholding idea (and how well I've convinced 'er indoors) ;D

Greetings from a sunny but windy Somerset.
I had a small plot and big ideas for years (and a "him indoors" who needed convincing) We finally moved into our first smallholding just under 4 weeks ago, so dreams really can come true.

Welcome Small Plot from a hail lashed Staffordshire. We all start somewhere and I'm not much further forward than you. Just half an acre at the moment which I have lost interest in due to neighbour issues -I would advise never trying to operate a smallholding surrounded by townies, as they moan about everything they can just to make your life more difficult. They treat it as some kind of sport. So its all up for sale and we are moving to France in September.
