Title: Not how I planned my day
Post by: MAK on May 12, 2012, 07:05:22 am
Rant or a chance to share your experience.
It seems to becoming more frequent that things conspire against me to do what I had actually planned for the day. Rain, snow or the heat mess things up and prevent us all doing what we planned but the generosity of others ???
Gifts and kindness are really getting on my nerves.
Being given 3 wheelburrow load of apples and setting visitors to work on cider making was OK  but sometimes gifts just come at the wrong time.
I have 4 days before visitors arrive.
Having put up plasterboard on their bedroom ceiling, plaster, paint, a new window, a door that shuts all I have to do is decorate and lay a carpet. BUT - we have been given rabbits !!
No problem we have concrete rabbit hutches - 40 years old, stacked behind a barn as far away from where we want them as is possible and across last years pig field- 30 degrees and 44 in the sun. Moved the lot to near the house but bits were missing. Put them all back. Made 2 hutches out of pallets, wood and other recycled bits. Rabbits have a home and we even managed to keep the male away from his sister - but today I have to kill and butcher her ( first time for me) as we have no more bits to make her a hutch and she is surplus to need.
Then yesterday my neighbour tells me that her son has ploughed her veg patch and that I can have half of it to grow spuds. Her son has left me a sack of seed spuds and all I have to do is plant them --- Agghhh HELP !
been up since 6 waiting for the thunder storms and rain to stop.

Rant over - but how have your days gone pear shaped?

They're not problems but opportunitys, get off the pooter and get cracking , you can lay carpet while it rains?.
and you won't have to water the spuds.

MAK,
My days never go as nicely pear shaped as yours do but so far this morning dog wanted to go out at 4.30. Got up, took him out and he just messed around. Went back to bed. Dog wanted to go out at 5.30. Got up, he did go to the toilet, went back to bed.
Dog wouldn't settle so got up again at 6am and put him outside on a long line. He started digging to australia (now have a big hole in the lawn). Bought him back in again and had to wash him as covered in mud.
Dog and cat have just had a spitting match and its only just gone 7am.  :(

You make me feel like a bad parent dog owner - my dog get's ignored 'til I'm ready to get up.

Mab,
The dog usually sleeps much later. As this was unusual I wanted to make sure that he wasn't desperate to go.
Instead I think the sunlight came as such a surprise to him (we haven't seen much lately) that he wanted to play out and play me up  ;D.
