well what a eveing went out to feed the lambs there last bottle and one was not right grounding his teeth and going round in circles no interst in his bottle or creep also noticed my boy kid was of colour as well so a trip down the vets both got high temps so got jabed with anti inflam/pain relif and long acting antipotics vet said some sort of virus hoping the other 10 lambs dont get it or my other goast that live with them well the car trip was fun and enternaing for the passerby at the vet carpark with lamb and kid making a racket grr what a eveing and it decided to rain while at vets so now soaking wet

I hope the antibiotics work and they are both feeling better soon.
Fingers crossed that the others haven't caught the bug - keep us posted.
BTW, I always get a bottle of antibiotics from the vets just before lambing - sometimes I need it for 1 or more ewes/lambs sometimes I don't use it at all. It's just piece of mind that I can act quickly and some years probably saves me ££ on trips to the vet if it resolves the problem.

yep ive got a bottle but vet said it was not the one to use the stuff she gave them was yellow mine is white and as i had to ill babys wanted to check them out oh well its all sent to try us im hoping the others stay healthy as most of them where emernacy cases and we are lucky to have got them this far im a little worried about the younger 2 they both had electric blankets when we first got them to get there temps up but all seem well at last check no more looking ill will check them first thing well my daughter will at 6am when she gets up ready for school im not looking forward to my next vet bill as had vet out to pig as well this month so its going be high, but rather have vet bill then lose any animal :(

weedy lamb seems better today he has taken his feeds and back to his normal greedy self the others all seem well wish the kid was doing better but all lambs are fine so just the jab from vet thank god for that :thumbsup:

Our vets farm animal practice is about half an hour away but he has a small animal practice just down the road so we collect our stuff from there. A couple of times theres been a problem with a sheep and we've arranged to take it to the local surgery to the huge amusement of the staff and the confusion of sundry pet owners
