a very young duckling or gosling. One gosling has hatched out early and his incubator mate died in it's shell. Now I have one lonely gosling who is trying desperately to imprint on me and my OH and the kids. I have others due to hatch hopefully in the next week. I tried putting the gossy in with some older chicks but they all freaked out. Any help gratefully received.

When I was in this situation with a 'rescued then donated to me' single duckling, I found two ducklings on Preloved to go with her.

I'll have a look at that. I think I may have found a solution. I've put a small battery powered radio in with the gossy and it's tuned to BBC Radio Cymru. Gossy is snuggled up to the radio and currently learning Welsh!

I have some ducklings due in the next 3-4 days. Well they are meant to be out in 5 days but no matter what I do to the incubator everything seems to hatch 2 days early so expecting them over the weekend. If you still need one and we have a good hatch you are welcome to one or two. ;D

:D love it!
my parents left the radio on for the cat if she stayed in, she preferred radio 4 ;)

give him/her a mirror in the short term. Then contact Graham Hicks at Selattyn, he is probably likely to have hatchlings. :&>
Goslings are sooooooooooooooo cute
I have 2 that think I'm mum, they are a couple of weeks old now and are eating me out of house and dandelion leaves ::)

Thanks for that advice. I'll put a mirror in tomorrow. Gossy or Pip Pip as my OH is now calling it, also has a small cuddly sheep (courtesy of oldest daughter) and a fluffy paint roller to cuddle up to. I will take a pic tomorrow and post it.
