Hi
From Sutherland.
Just permanently moved to a smallholding after struggling for the last 16 months to sell our house in West Yorkshire,
First livestock we are going to get are 3/4 chickens, any advice housing them or a good supplyer for coops would be appreciated.
Thanks Clive

Hello from me in South Lanarkshire, welcome to TAS
I think the best chicken coop you can get is a 6x4 shed ;) Cut a pop hole door for them, add your perches (divide it in 2 so you can store their bits and bobs in it - until you feel the need to expand numbers) pop in a couple of old drawers for nest boxes and there you have it
Solway recycling do nice recycled plastic ones, some with runs attached and you might find your local agri-store sells them or can point you in the direction of someone local. My one tip would be if you're buying a coop, buy it from someone who keeps chickens as they'll have tweaked their design to suit the birds ;)

Hello from Wiltshire. Yep you cant beat a shed for a coop in my opinion, a few modifications and job done. Gives you room to expand your flock at some point.

Wait until September and come to the Scottish Smallholder and Grower Festival in Forfar on the 30th. There will be lots of poultry stuff there ;D
Slipped up there, HH ;)

Hello neighbour, from a fellow Sutherland-ite  I'm in Golspie. Got a bunch of chooks, no land, but lots of crofting pals. It's hard work!! Can't give you much advice on where to buy a coop 'cos my hubbie makes mine :D but for 3-4 hens you don't need much.
