When I arrived at the field this morning I found a pile of beautiful white feathers, the remains of my last Guinea fowl hen (B*%$*/d FOX >:( >:( thats both hens he has help himself too)
My problem is she was siting on 15 eggs I don't have a broody hen so i have brought them home and popped them in the incubator, never hatched any before so not got a clue what i am doing
Any advice would be a help

I'm very sorry to hear about your guinea fowl :-\ b-@&^% fox >:(
I don't know either about incubating them.
But there's a reasonably cheap ebook about it all here (http://farmingfriends.com/incubating-hatching-and-raising-guinea-fowl-keets-ebook-for-sale/)which looks like it would help.

Thanks JayKay there is loads of info just on the site ;D

What a shame! If they're anything like peafowl, they'll hatch after 28 days in fairly standard conditions. good luck!

If any birds are left to range then fox will get 99.9% of them. And once he knows where his easy dinner is he will be back time after time. I love having Guinea fowl about the farm but they can fly high so do need higher fencing. As Guinea Fowl need the same protection as other poultry, house the guinea fowl in a dry place that makes good use of location, shelter and space. As with a chicken coop, you’ll need to install some fencing to protect them from foxes and other predators.
This site has good general info:

PS: She was White? I've never heard of a pure white Guinea Fowl.

Ohlala I had 2 pure white hens they were beautiful ,but I had them given and they had roosted in trees at their previous home never had a shed.
If any of the eggs hatch these will be in a permanent run till they are old enough to free range and housed at night but the 2 boys i've got left will be left free ranging as that's what they are used to
Had a look at both web sites lots of really good info on both
Thanks Guys don't know what i'd do without TAS

Only 2 of the eggs hatched, don't have a clue what sex they, but are both pure white
still can't do photos on here but if you fancy a look this is a link to my face book page with the photos

If you want to keep Guinea Fowl (or Galenies as we've always called them) best to get them as poults and train them to go into a house at night otherwise they will roost in trees and if you have foxes they will eventually get them :( :(

They have taken it upon themselves to move in with the hens Sylvia (the 2 boys I have left) but the babies will be having their own run/shed when they are big enough, I am hoping they are girls and then I can put them with the male that is not the father a beautiful royal purple pearl, and the other one I'm afraid is destined for the pot

They look lovely. Hope they are both girls.
