My twin boys born last Thursday have been offered a home by an ex-goatkeeper nearby who used to have milkers and no longer wants the work involved but misses having goats around. They will have an experienced home with good facilities. Perfect!
I want to ring them but, quite frankly, there is nothing to put a ring round. We used to have rare breed sheep and never had a problem ringing lambs, are goats testicles more, well, elusive? They are small kids, being GGs, but not anywhere near as small as pygmy goats. I am taking them for disbudding on Monday but had hoped to avoid the cost of vet castration because I am giving them away to this particular person to ensure a good home.
Anyone else had this problem?

Wait a couple of days and all will be well,

Thank you!

My vet does it at disbudding when they are under, and doesn't charge extra for it. Ask your vet, if not, wait a few more days and do it when they are a week old.

Get the Vet to do it.....I do everytime. It ensures that BOTH testicles have been removed !!!!!!!!!

My vet ringed Curry and disbudded him at the same time for the same price.

I have a problem ringing the smaller pygmy goats quite often, as there is nothing there, and have to wait a little longer
Hopefully the vet will do the Anglo Nubian male when he is there with his sisters for disbudding.
