:-[ :(
Hi all, after carefully planning work as best as I could around my girls dates, It's all gone wrong!
Doris lost her mucus plug thingy Thursday evening, ridged up yesterday and this morning has an udder as tight as a very tight thing! She's had a little bit of breakfast, but not much so I think it's going to be today, unfortunately I have to be at work till 5 :-[ :-[
Hubby is doing checks for me and will pop down a bit before lunch but he is the first to admit he won't know what to do if anything isn't right.
Given the description what do you guys think? popping today or will she hold out till this evening?
I'm sure she will be fine even if I am not there, but I do worry so!
After this I don't go back to work till nest Thursday for 3 days then off for nearly 3 weeks!
Come on Doris, cross your legs for a bit longer!
-
Today...particularly as the sun is out !!!!
-
AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!
I do hope it is today as the weather is so lovely, but I hate not being around for the 'just in case'. Oh well hubby has Mr Vets number if anything should go wrong.
Thankies x

Chances are sometime today but I find early morning and evening are the most common times to lamb/kid so she might well hang on for you to come home :)
-
YAY!!
Apparently she is looking exactly the same as this morning when I was there, so she's not started pawing the ground or anything yet
-
shes waiting for you cw!
-
I think she's hanging on for you too ;) (not that I know much about goats)
My wee Kunekune, Adelaide waits for me ::) One night Bruce had been up doing the hourly check and hung around a bit as she looked ready to pop, after an hour he came back and I went up - 10 minutes later we had 2 piglets. Animals eh ?!! Hope all goes well once you're home, and we want to see the photo's too
Karen

I think you might be right, as she apparenently keeps pawing, circling, lying down and then geting up and looking out of the gate!
Still only half an hour to go and I shall be there
-
Keep those legs crossed Doris, not long to wait now
-
Anyone else get excited reading this? I cant wait to hear what Doris has. I hope we get some pictures soon. Push Doris, push!!!
-
Anyone else getting excited? I'm on tenterhooks like I was with my own and she slipped two out in between half-hourly checks. One minute nothing doing, then as she heard me go back in for a cuppa...
Hope to see good news about Doris soon!
-
Keep going doris!!
-
LOL...I'm checking the forum more often than I check my own goats...any news?
-
How's she doing?
-
Any news yet? I'm tired, got to go to bed but looking forward to hearing kid news!
-
Sorry guys!
Such little time wasters!
Doris bless her had a little girly literally minutes before we got home, then 10 mins after we got there a little boy to go with her
If you can be patient enough with photobucket, pics will follow shortly!
Some more good news, no one else is ready to go yet, the sheep are leaping about like loonies, the other goats are stuffing their faces so for the first time in ages I'm going to bed and not getting up til morning

How am I ever going to find time to go back to work??
I realised I spent an hour just leaning on the fence watching them this morning! What will happen when they start playing properly is beyond me :D
'Sorry boss, can't come to work today because the goat puppies are too cute!'
:D :D :D
Thanks for all the lovely comments :-* :-*

Great result! Best wishes to all concerned.

Nice! Daddy an AN?
You would have thought so wouldn't you? They look very Nubianesque, but daddy was in fact a Boer by the name of Mr Stilton!
-
excellent stuff cw, congratulations!
-
Millie is now fidgeting and 'yawning' and flicking her tail, so is Tarragon (sheepie) so i reckon it's going to be a busy evening!
Catch all you lovely peeps later x :-*

-
Welcome babies and Well Done Doris!!! One of each, brilliant news!
-
How exciting, lovely kids, now the fun begins , before you know it you will be chasing after them because the little sods have escaped again, you will have to give up work as they can't be left un-attended.
-
Well Millie and Enid are both still hanging in there ::)
Fortunately as I spent most of last night with yesterday's lamb, but how about this...
Doris is a first timer, never been milked before and yet at horrible o'clock last night stood perfectly to let a little lamb get a bellyful of colostrum and so save it's life
She stood blinking at the lamb, then sniffed each of her kids in turn as if she was thinking One.. Two.. what the heck is that!? One.. Two.. what the heck is that!?
I doubt she would allow such liberties again, but bless her heart she allowed it the once
-
What a good girl
-
Aw bless her.
