Title: White Shetland Cattle
Post by: dogs dinner on April 17, 2012, 05:18:43 pm
Has anyone else ever seen White Shetland Cattle?
Two years ago my blue/ white shetland heifer produced a pure white heifer calf (Frosty) to a blue /white bull. She is not albino as she has dark eyes. Even her horns are white, although she does have black spots on the skin of her nose. Recently Frosty had her first calf, (also to a blue/white bull) and lo and behold she produced a cracking white bull calf, Snowman does have a few red hairs on the tips of his ears but that is all.  I haven't heard of any others , does anyone know different.

I think Linda McCaig, St Trinian's herd, may have a white bull but I'm not entirely sure.

That would be quite a thing, now  :)

I'll send photos of the white cattle as soon as I get them outside and they clean up a bit. They really are quite stunning, the heifer even has white horns!
