Title: Sheep Insurance
Post by: moprabbit on April 16, 2012, 10:54:29 am
I have 4 pet sheep and was wondering about some form of public liability insurance should they damage anyones property etc. I have tried the NFU but their insurance would be on a house ins.policy and would only cover sheep in the field and not pet sheep! I was wondering if anyone had any ideas? Also insurance to cover vets bills etc - has anyone heard of any company that does this for pet sheep? Thanks.

Good luck!!!!

Let me know if you find someone. Yes I had same from NFU and my house policy isnt up for a while.Others said no  because I wasnt a business or didnt own tractor or the like. Some said they would have a think what they could do and then never got back in touch. Must admit I have left it for the last couple of weeks due to juggling lambing and everything else.

I have it through NFU - I'm a grazier and its kind of indispensable to have it when grazing other poeples land.

I am, however, a business (although I dont own a tractor).

Farmers mercantile do a smallholders policy (not inc house, but inc animals and liability) - but it started at about £250.... so we are uninsured and praying!  We were with NFU inc house, but renewal of £470... just too much.  Now with Kwik fit!!
