Hi all - any hints and tips on how to go about producing a Club Year Book, with a few articles and photos, annual accounts and club member details. I am moderately computer literate, but find doing anything I haven't attempted before a bit challenging.
Years ago with my first computer I bought Lotus software, and rather than learn anything new I have just gone along with that, but I would suspect most printers will expect it in Microsoft.
What does anyone think? All hints and tips gratefully received. I know I can just take it to the printers and make them do it, but it will cost more, and I feel I should be able to cope ( made my first website after my 9year old nephew did one just for fun.... so I can do it if sufficiently motivated, just need a nudge in the right direction ::)

I have done a good few of these. (about 5 or 6 I think)
Have you got contributions from other members(Articles, anecdotes, reports of events etc)? That's always a good start. Photos go down well too.
If you have a reasonably modern version of Word you can convert it to a pdf(Adobe) file easily which is what most printers like to have work sent in They don't usually like MS word as it can reformat itself and not end up looking the way the client wants, as well as often taking up a lot more file space. If you haven't don't worry, just email the pages to me as you do them and I'll convert them for you, email them back, and you can put them on a cd - or a flash drive if you want to be really up to date!.

Thanks for the replies and thanks for the offer Doganjo
Just the fact that I feel there is a bit of back up has spurred me on and I was up till 2.30 learning to use the Word program (have always used lotus till now) Anyway have made quite a good start, and so am feeling quite happy with it at present
Many many thanks and if I need to take you up on your kind offer I shall be in touch  ;D

Well done, no problem re helping in any way. To convert to a PDF, just click on save as, then click the drop down arrow and you should see a list of possible file extensions - pdf should be there. Click on that and you should see the file come up on screen as it would be printed.
Have attached a couple of mine to let you see. My word files had already been shrunk but the quality is still there.
