Well, our girls Elsie and Guinevere have done us proud. 17 piglets between them.
Anyone out there want to carry on this superb breed? The piglets will be ready in about 8 weeks and we are keeping some - they are Harmony/Cornishman and they are amazing quality piglets.
Something that we're trying for people this year is raising a piglet for them to slaughter weight, then charging a reasonable amount per kilo of the carcass to cover feed, butchering, etc. We have 4 already reserved for this (with deposit). It really works if you want to get together with family and friends to get a whole load of joints and sausages. You know you're getting good meat at a fair price and you know exactly where it is from. You can even come and visit your piglet if you want! When it comes time for the butchering, you'll get your meat next working day by Parcelforce, or you can come and help and take it away with you.
