How long does it normally take before you see
shoots from newly planted seed potato's ?
I planted them approx 2" deep and added water.
I talk to them every night but still no response!
Are they to deep in the compost bag ?
All help would be appreciated to a first time planter.

Patience OH' quality takes time, just hope they are actually growing in that bag not just having a nice rest :) :) :)
-
heeheeheeheeheeheehee.heehee. :D
-
i think youve probably planted them too deep bb, i should take them out, knock all the sprouts off, and try again, this time, fill the compost bag and lay them on the top. that ought to do it. ;)
-
Cheers
-
:o is 2" too deep for spuds!! I always plant mine deeper than that and they always tend to come through,is there a right way and a wrong one?!! Please enlighten me ???

All is not lost for mine if that's the case.
-
I'm not going to be winning any prizes :trophy: . My spuds still haven't come up ??? Granted there not is the sunniest spot in the garden in there bag ( not my garden, if it was my bag of spuds would be sat in the middle of the raised bed ;D , just because gusts walk round it, the garden has to look good ::) ) but they have been in since 30th March.
-
My mistake I planted them on the 2nd April. ;D.

I cannot see a anything yet,took Ditw's advice but still nothing :-\

Panic! Panic! No show at all and now torrential rain threatening to flood them. >:(

Have you managed to plant some more bangbang?
If they are for the tattie competition I'm sure, under the cat-astrophic circumstances it should be allowed

I always plant mine on Good friday regardless of when Easter is but this year they're still sprouting in the greenhouse as the veg garden is under water, it we've had rain everyday since i don't know when now i know how you guys in the west feel. :bouquet: Forecast says more over the next ten days. Uggh so no chance tatties will be mainly late this year!
mandy :pig:
-
ours too are going to be really late this year Mandy :-\ would have aimed for late march to start but inclement weather put paid to that along other mitigating circumstances they're still not in ::)
-
At last!! my competition tatties are up,yayy ;D ,ok,about half a inch :-[
