i want to plant some hickory trees on the boarder planting going on around my land. does anyone know where i can get hold of some as no-one does around here. are there many varieties because if there are it is the one used in the wood burning food smoker i am interested in. didn't think it was going to be hard to find but there ya go.

Apparently there are 20 hickories, 19 native to North America and one to China, none to UK. Have you tried Buckingham Nurseries?

www.hedging.co.uk (http://www.hedging.co.uk) but I've just had a look and they don't sell hickory trees. They do sell the chips though and I can see from the price why you would want to grow your own :o

Could you ask your local garden centre if they can source them for you,i had a quick look and cannot find anything within the UK,some seeds on ebay from Lithuania though! :o
