Title: harrow arrives today...
Post by: smudger on March 30, 2012, 12:43:08 pm
What was until recent weeks swampy Devon clay has set to concrete - Is it to dry now or is drier actually better? Its a spring tine grass harrow  so I can  adjust the aggression, but do have a bit of poo and mole hills to flatten (can't wait...).

Roller is next week - again too dry now? wait for a little bit of rain?

thx

Mmm, trying to not feel (too) smug, but the fact we can't use it as we need an adaptor for our tractor, has taken the edge off its arrival somewhat ::). It will probably rain before we get it, so supercedes our query.  It does look nice and shiny and red (to match our tractor, very important!) if somewhat forelorn and abondoned in the field.

Hey ho, such is life.

I had fun this weekend with my new chain harrows ( thanks Moleskins) on the back of my quad. Had to adapt them by fixing a 8' round fence post attached by fencing wire to stop the chains from bouncing off the ground.
Me and the girls had great fun.

Luckily, easily sorted. The bar which the 3pt linkage attaches to was to big in dia. (CAT 2), supplier fabricated a new one and it was quickly changed.  Hitching tonight, harrowing tomorrow.....if it stops raining.
