For 6 days we've lived in peace and harmony. Puffin has attended to her kid Sixpence beautifully and after I watched how she stayed wherever he was and vice versa, I decided (foolishly) that a fence made of sheep fencing and those plastic poles would give them a little paddock to turn out into without him risking the electric fence or coming into contact with the other goats just yet.
Well after a few days of this being a fantastic arrangement, yesterday Puffin decided to pull the fencing down, so I put it back up, she pulled it back down. She led him over to the other goats who weren't all that keen. I rescued them back into the fenced area. She jumped over and helped him squeeze through a square of the fencing.
Today he is in the shed, she has a lowered hurdle that she can easily jump to get to him but he can't get out >:(
So he'll have several walks on his lead for exercise, I've got a fencing man coming to put me some proper post and rail up with a top strip of electric and I'm needing to dye my hair again as its getting greyer by the second.

Oh yes, they are mischievious little dears, which do not necessarily improve with age. My dear little boy who will be 2 this year was up to mischief on Sunday. My hubby does not share my love of goats, his pride and joy are his tractors especially his little grey fergie, Billy Burger (as he is affectionately known as) inquisitive as ever wandered over to see what we were up to, new post and rail fencing, however when hubby goes to start beloved fergie no 'sparking' connection, on further inspection a red connecting wire has been bitten in two, hence problem and rather a lot of curses in poor Burgers direction, it did not help that I could not stop laughing!!! So Plums I'm afraid this probably is just the beginning of your fun, but they are so so worth it. Enjoy :)

I so love stories like this ;D ;D

That made me laugh WDW!! I had to read it a second time because I thought the grey Fergie was called Billy Burger!! Love the name though ;D I think sixpence might have a few new names over the next week or so ::) We'd just got over the antics from the others who are a bit older now but I remember a neighbour popping round to let me know Savannah was "up a plum tree" which she quite literally was!

It makes for work but they are the most entertaining creatures ever ;D

Ha ha - I have put off turnout for a week as I need to really get the barricading under control! Mains electric fence and pigtails out from the stock fence and 3 strands below (my kids stick their heads through the fence and as they have small horns can't get back - so stand and howl!

Our goat shed USED TO have an indoor & outdoor light in/on the shed, and a couple on the fence ...
... now there's just the unlit lantern lights, and a load of chewed-through dangling cable!
Its a wonder they didn't kill them themselves, they chewed through the coving that kept the cable out their way.
Plums, he's so cute you'll soon forgive him! :D
What do the others think of him? (little upstart!)

Savannah not keen at all! Have you ever seen that OMG Cat clip on youtube? the one where the cat's mouth and eyes just get wider and wider like its in total amazement? well that was Savannah's reaction first day she realised that Puffin had produced a mini-me.
Reggie is still as daft as a brush and has taken on the role of doting uncle - albeit with an electric fence between them.
He is cute though. Even my elderly neighbours taken a shine to him. And Tony and he doesn't 'do' animals.

How does anyone survive without goats?
-
I know! What do they do with all the spare time left over from fencing, wiring, and other general repairs ;) As well as what do they do for entertainment :D

LOL threw my three in at the deep end, there was a bit of pushing about for the first day or two but they all get on ok now especially Jalaini and Cedric,
it's not the little ones that are naughty it's Juno she seams to have turned into an unruly teenager over night, she is so Jealous ::) she is really good with Clodagh and Cerys the 2 little girls unless I'm there and if I sit down on the step outside the shed with the kids she sneaks up behind them and nudges them off the step, and puts her head where they were. She wont go to bed, never a problem before but now i have to take her on a lead. She has learnt how to open the catch on the gate, I was in the feed shed and when I turned round all 5 were stood behind me, I now have a long nut and bolt that goes through the catch, she chases the Chooks round the barn
Bottle feeding and teenagers are 2 things I thought I had done with years ago
