Title: Bye bye to my chooks
Post by: HappyHippy on March 21, 2012, 01:04:48 pm
But they've gone to live with Simon O, who's not got a Boris running about  ;)
Funny, there were only four of them, but I miss them already  :'(
At least I know they've gone to a good home, and I hope they'll reward Simon with plenty of eggs :chook:

He's a great dog in every other respect (which is why he's still here and the chickens have moved out)  I just couldn't get rid of him. We adopted him when he was just 9 months old and in a terrible state, he had real anxiety issues and made a mess everywhere. I just found out I was pregnant with my first baby and we weren't sure if he'd be able to stay (health & hygiene issues with the baby and all that  ;)) but he just seemed to settle down after a couple of months and has slept at the side of my bed (or on it if Bruce is away  :D) every night - I couldn't be without my 'hairy baby'.
I'm not off chickens forever though  ;) Soon as we get the chance to construct a good (big) permanent run in what's going to be our orchard, I'll be wheeling up my hen house and investing in some more

Boris is such a cutie ...

... now you'll see why our hens aren't free range, Sheba would eat them as soon as look at them.
Sheba doesn't free range far either!!
