Took the little man for dehorning today not as bad as i expected if a bit smelly left the field at 8.30am and he was back in the pen by 9.30am. Girls are going next tuesday if they are ready.
Went to give them a feed at 11.30 and Cedric didn't seem as interested as i thought he should be?? thought he was just off it a bit from his visit to the vets earlier. i decided to keep a bit closer eye on him for the rest of the day. thought i was seeing things but Jalaini is letting him suckle from her lol He had a good feed first thing as they are in separate pens, but i think when he is having a bottle later in the day he is just topping up
I will try to get a photo tomorrow with the real camera, Struggling to put photos on from my new phone so this is a link to our facebook page Hattys Pantry

Good girl :) and a lovely photo
My Ellie took on her grandkids as her own when her daughter died - I hadn't bred from Ellie that year but had milked her through. Such a relief when she started feeding them :)

Jalani has allowed this before so no surprise here. Give me a ring some time for a chat

one of our goats was most upset one year because we left her empty,& she kept trying to steal everybody elses kids.well we had a calf we were rearing & she started feeding it!it was really funny because the calf was as big as her, think she fed it for about six months.
we kept the calf & its totally nuts!acts just like a goat, not funny when shes hopping & skipping around you,& she tries to stand up on the fences to eat the hedges. :cow:

You have quiet a herd now!!
I cannot see Bramble and Alyce allowing kids to feed from them .....they just about tolerate the youngsters through the fence :D
